Frozen Shoulder (Adhesive Capsulitis) - Short Note Definition: Stiffness, pain, and limited movement in the shoulder joint due to inflammation and thickening of the shoulder capsule. Causes: Injury or surgery Diabetes Prolonged immobility Unknown (idiopathic) Stages: 1. Freezing Stage: Gradual onset of pain, decreased range of motion 2. Frozen Stage: Pain decreases, stiffness increases 3. Thawing Stage: Slow return of movement Symptoms: Shoulder pain (worse at night) Restricted active and passive motion Difficulty with daily activities (e.g., combing hair) Treatment: Physical therapy & stretching exercises Hot/cold packs Pain relief medications Corticosteroid injections (if needed)
